Nanna’s Banana Bread

I got this recipe from a good friend of mine.  Her and I talk and she almost always says “Have you ever eaten…” and it usually ends with, “No, but it sounds good. Shoot me the recipe.” Here is one of the recipes that she gave me.

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour

1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

2/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup shortening

2 eggs

2 tablespoons milk

1 cup mashed ripe bananas

1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Stir together flour, baking powder, soda, and 3/4 teaspoon salt. Set aside.

In the mixer bowl, beat sugar and shortening with electric miser till light, scraping sides of bowl often. Add eggs, one at a time, and the milk, beating till smooth after each addition. Add flour mixture and banana alternately to creamed mixture, beating till smooth after each addition. Fold in nuts.

Turn batter into a lightly greased 8×4x2-inch loaf pan. Bake in a 350* oven for 60-65 minutes or till a probe inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool. For easier slicing, wrap and store overnight. Makes 1 loaf.

Beef Stroganoff

Beef Stroganoff. Creamy and delicious. It sounds like alot of hard work, right? Wrong. I make this dish at least 3 times a month.Delicious and creamy and easy.

1 pound ground beef

16 oz sour cream

11 oz cream of mushroom soup

I do all of the cooking in a wok. But you can also cook the meat in the microwave and then make the stroganoff in a saucepan. Either way you have to first cook and drain the beef. Then add the sour cream and mushroom soup. Do not add water or milk to the soup.Lower the heat to medium and let the stroganoff simmer. I pour mine over rice. This dish is also great with macaroni noodles. Enjoy ; )
