French Breakfast Puffs

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flourfrench-breakfast-puffs
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
   1/2 teaspoon salt
   1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
   1/2 cup sugar
   1/2 cup shortening
      1 egg
   1/2 cup milk
   1/2 cup sugar
      1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
      6 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
 
Lightly grease 12 muffin cups; set aside.  Stir together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg; set aside.  In mixer bowl, cream together 1/2 cup sugar, the shortening, and egg..  Add flour mixture and milk alternate to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition.
 
Fill prepared muffin cups 2/3 full.  Bake in 350* oven for 20-25 minutes or till golden.  Combine 1/2 cup sugar and the cinnamon.  Remove muffins from oven; immediately dip in melted butter or margarine, then in cinnamon-sugar mixture till coated.  Serve warm. 

Makes 12 muffins.

Happy Mothers Day- Taco Bake

I wanted to blog about a recipe that for mothers day that even kids could help with. when I couldn’t think of a recipe I went to my good friend, Laura. She gave me this great recipe. Hope you and your mom love this.

For the crockpot taco bake you will need:

1 lb ground beef
1 onion, chopped
3/4 cup water
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1-15 oz. can tomato sauce
1 large can of stewed, diced tomatoes, still in the juices
1-26 1/2 oz. can tomato sauce ( I used green pepper and mushroom)
1 pkg. (8 oz.) uncooked macaroni (Shells work too)

1-1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Brown ground beef and onion in skillet. Drain fat. Add water, taco seasoning, and tomato sauce; mix. Transfer to crockpot.

Stir in macaroni.

Cover and cook on high 2 1/2 hours. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, top with cheddar cheese. Serves 4-6.
